Sorry for the long break in posts. A matter of events fell into place at increasingly bad times. I finished writing, then I started editing, which had become a tedious and unforeseeable process. I finished this and then decided to do the lazy thing, and stop writing.
I took a couple weeks as a break, letting the ideas swirl around in my head until I deemed them good enough to grace the holy Microsoft Word.
In reality, it was one idea, an idea I had toyed with before. I won't go into details, because spoilers, but the next thing I'm working on is making me very excited. The whole idea and premise just excites me to my core. I'm in the early stages, outlining, designing the world and finding out who these characters are. But, soon I'll be full fledged into the writing process again, and I'm very excited to be doing it.
As far as what I've been consuming in the downtime and the slacking off, just one book in particular. It's a fairly popular book by Joe Hill (Who I just recently found out is the son of Stephen King, blew my mind.) called N0S4A2. I picked it up at my local thrift store and I have to say it was a journey. I expected something completely different when I started reading this, and what I got was not even remotely close to what I expected. It just ended up being something I didn't even know I wanted.
All in all it was a great read and I would definitely recommend checking it out, I won't attempt to describe the plot here because that would lead to me creating a jumbled mess that would most likely spoil the book entirely. Just read it.
Now I've moved on to something completely in the other direction "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking. It's definitely a very interesting look at the universe, time and how we view it all. It's also refreshing the way that he explains these unfathomably complex concepts. The product ends up being a very interesting journey that I thought I wouldn't take.
That's all for now, more updates to come eventually.
