So, I recently finished Daredevil, (yes, I'm just gonna jump into it.) and I have to say, it is one of my favorite shows right now, and maybe of all time. It's one of the only times I actually wanted to re watch the show right after. The characters are perfectly portrayed, they're well formed and they keep the integrity of the original characters while still making a new a fully formed character. The writing and story keeps you drawn in, it's gritty, it's down to earth, and it feels real. I'd have to say, if you haven't watched it, do it now.
There is one thing that's been bugging me recently, while were on the subject, it's comic book movies. There is a large group of people out there saying that the market has become over-saturated with comic book films. Which, may be true in a sense, but I believe that in reality, we've only just entered this small and fresh market where there are still many new places for us to go. As you can tell with things like Daredevil, new things can be done, they don't all have to be family-friendly and 'all-appealing' they can be gritty, they can be dark, and they can be real.
Every time I think about this though, I can't silence my inner child. The 10 year old in me that realizes he would've killed for a fully-formed Marvel universe, and a DC universe that is slowly but surely starting to gain it's feet and many many other comic book adaptations to look forward to. I mean, The Flash and Arrow are on mainstream television and are consistently crossing-over with each other. If I could go back in time and show people our advancements, it wouldn't be the smartphone, the true testament to humanity's worth, is the CW TV network.
Have a good day, check out Daredevil, and read more books.
